From human medicine to a paw-some calling
Holly began her career in human medicine over 20 years ago as a nurse's aide. However, a series of medical emergencies with her own beloved pets ignited a new passion within her. Vowing to never feel helpless again when an animal needed her, she pursued and earned her degree in Veterinary Science, becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2013.
Her extensive experience includes working in demanding Emergency Departments and Intensive Care Units, and more recently, as a surgical nurse. One of Holly's greatest joys in veterinary medicine is teaching clients how to provide the best care for their pets at home. When she's not caring for animals, Holly loves spending time outdoors with her coonhound, Zombie, whom she hand-raised since he was just two weeks old. Together, they enjoy hiking, trail running, and backpacking. Holly also enjoys reading and traveling.

With two decades of experience in veterinary medicine, Holly understands that every pet is unique and special. There is no "one size fits all" approach to their care. Each furry friend deserves a personalized treatment plan as individual as they are. This philosophy guides every service provided by A Paw Above LLC, ensuring your pet receives the most attentive and appropriate care.
Holly's favorite part of caring for beloved pet's in the comfort of thier home; seeing the human animal bond at it's best! Working in demanding emergency rooms and ICUs, Holly spent most of her career meeting clients and pets at their worst. Now she gets to see them at their best. "It's fantastic to be able to meet these families under much happier circumstances and see the human animal bond as it's meant to be. It reminds me of why I got into this field all those years ago in the first place."
